چکیده

Aim As climate change presents a major threat to biodiversity in the next decades, it is critical assess its impact on species habitat suitability inform conservation. Species distribution models (SDMs) are widely used tool impacts species’ geographical distributions. name of these suggests, level most commonly taxonomic unit SDMs. However, recently has been demonstrated that SDMs considering resolution below (or above) can make more reliable predictions when different populations exhibit local adaptation. Here, we tested this idea using Japanese crayfish (Cambaroides japonicus), threatened encompassing two geographically structured and phylogenetically distinct genetic lineages. Location Northern Japan. Methods We first estimated niche differentiation between lineages C. japonicus n-dimensional hypervolumes then made constructed at phylogenetic levels: intraspecific lineage. Results Our results showed only intermediate overlap, demonstrating measurable differences The species-level SDM future predicted much broader severe change. lineage-level led reduced overall also suggested eastern lineage may be resilient than western one. Main conclusions occupy spaces. Compared with models, overestimate impacts. These not have important implications for designing conservation strategies species, but highlight need incorporating information into obtain realistic

Toward more realistic drug–target interaction predictions

A number of supervised machine learning models have recently been introduced for the prediction of drug-target interactions based on chemical structure and genomic sequence information. Although these models could offer improved means for many network pharmacology applications, such as repositioning of drugs for new therapeutic uses, the prediction models are often being constructed and evaluat...

The impact of climate change on the distribution of two threatened Dipterocarp trees

Two ecologically and economically important, and threatened Dipterocarp trees Sal (Shorea robusta) and Garjan (Dipterocarpus turbinatus) form mono-specific canopies in dry deciduous, moist deciduous, evergreen, and semievergreen forests across South Asia and continental parts of Southeast Asia. They provide valuable timber and play an important role in the economy of many Asian countries. Howev...

Predicting the impacts of climate change on the distribution of threatened forest-restricted birds in Madagascar

The greatest common threat to birds in Madagascar has historically been from anthropogenic deforestation. During recent decades, global climate change is now also regarded as a significant threat to biodiversity. This study uses Maximum Entropy species distribution modeling to explore how potential climate change could affect the distribution of 17 threatened forest endemic bird species, using ...

Trees harvesting the clouds: fog nets threatened by climate change.

The major direct drivers of environmental change in mountains are relief, hydroclimate and land use. Mountain forests affected by persistent seasonal or annual fog are called montane cloud forests (Bubb et al. 2004). On the slopes of temperate mountains, the elevation of the cloud base marks the transition from mon-tane (hardwood-deciduous, lower-altitude) to cloud (conifer-evergreen, higher-al...
